Futures TradersHigh Profit SplitUpdated 2026-10-12

FTMO Futures is FTMO's CME futures product, launched in 2026 and run separately from its long-standing CFD business. A single Evaluation phase with a 6% profit target leads to a Sim-Funded account paying a 90/10 split from the first payout, priced as a monthly subscription from $119 rather than a one-off challenge fee. Accounts run from $50,000 to $150,000 on NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView, and unlike the FTMO CFD Challenge it is open to US residents in 45 states. Drawdown is end-of-day trailing and positions cannot be held overnight.

Pros and Cons of FTMO Futures

Pros

Open to US residents in 45 states — the FTMO CFD Challenge is not
Single Evaluation phase with no time limit and no minimum trading days
90/10 profit split from the very first payout, on both plans
Drawdown is end-of-day trailing, not intraday, and locks at breakeven once reached
No activation fee on any account, and no consistency rule once Sim-Funded
News trading allowed, and automated strategies permitted
Up to 3 concurrent Sim-Funded accounts and unlimited concurrent Evaluations
NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView all included, no platform upcharge

Cons

Brand new product with no futures payout track record — the $650M+ FTMO has paid out is the CFD business
Monthly subscription keeps billing for as long as the Evaluation drags on, unlike a one-off challenge fee
No overnight holding at all: anything open or resting at 4:10pm ET is auto-liquidated, so swing trading is impossible
Pro daily loss limit is hard — one breach permanently terminates the account
Not available to residents of roughly 100 countries, including Kenya, Ghana, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Australia
Live (non-simulated) funding is invitation only and adds a market data fee
FTMO publishes no instrument list or commission schedule for the futures product

How the FTMO Futures Growth / Pro Evaluation (1-Step) drawdown actually works

Tight for the trader
Max drawdownTrailing - locks at breakeven
Measured onEquity (incl. floating)
Daily limit onEquity (incl. floating)
Daily reset18:00 ET

The maximum loss trails upward with your account and locks once you reach breakeven - profit you bank protects more of your balance, but a retrace after a strong run can still breach the floor. The daily limit is measured on equity, so floating losses on open positions count toward it, and it resets 18:00 et.

Floating losses on open positions count toward the breach — you can fail without closing a trade.

Other models: Max Drawdown Amount is $2,000/$3,500/$5,000 on Growth and $3,000/$4,500/$6,000 on Pro, for the $50K/$100K/$150K accounts. Daily Loss Limit Amount is $1,000/$1,500/$2,000 on Pro (hard, both stages) and $1,000/$2,000/$3,000 on Growth (soft, Sim-Funded only — it closes positions and suspends trading for the rest of that day instead of terminating the account). Growth has no Daily Loss Limit during the Evaluation.

“The Maximum Drawdown rule establishes an end-of-day trailing limit (the Maximum Drawdown Limit) which your account equity (i.e., Balance + Open Positions P&L – Commissions) cannot hit at any point. If equity hits this limit, the rule is considered violated and the Evaluation is unsuccessful. The Maximum Drawdown Limit is calculated at the start of each trading day as the difference between the highest account balance recorded at the close of any preceding trading day (or the Initial Simulated Capital if higher) and the applicable Maximum Drawdown Amount.”
“locks permanently at that figure for the remaining duration of the Evaluation, unless (i) you pay a Reset Fee, or (ii) you breach the Maximum Drawdown Limit and wait for the next monthly subscription. The Maximum Drawdown Amount is $2,000.”

How FTMO Futures Works

FTMO Futures operates as a proprietary trading firm that provides funded trading capital to qualified traders. The firm offers 2 evaluation models: Growth (1-Step Evaluation), Pro (1-Step Evaluation), requiring traders to demonstrate consistent profitability while adhering to strict risk management rules before receiving access to funded capital.

To get started, traders select an account size (ranging from $50,000 to $150,000) and pay a one-time evaluation fee. Once funded, traders keep 90% of the profits they generate — one of the highest splits in the industry. Payouts are processed every 4 days (growth) / 5 days (pro), with a minimum withdrawal of $20.

The firm supports trading on NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, giving traders flexibility to use their preferred platform. Available instruments include Futures, providing access to key financial markets.

FTMO Futures Evaluation Process Explained

FTMO Futures's evaluation process is designed to identify traders who can generate consistent profits while managing risk effectively.

The 1-Step evaluation streamlines the process into a single phase. Traders need to hit one profit target while respecting the drawdown limits, offering a faster path to funding for experienced traders who want to get funded quickly.

Upon passing the evaluation, FTMO Futures provides a funded account with the firm's capital. Traders must continue following the same risk management rules during live trading to maintain their funded status.

FTMO Futures Trading Conditions

FTMO Futures provides competitive trading conditions across all account sizes. The entry-level $50,000 account starts from $119/mo (Growth) / $139/mo (Pro), with profit targets of $3,000 (6%) and a maximum drawdown of $2,000 / $3,000 end-of-day trailing. Daily drawdown is capped at None in Evaluation / $1,000 hard.

Drawdown Rules: FTMO Futures enforces a trailing drawdown model, meaning the maximum drawdown adjusts as your account balance grows. This encourages traders to lock in profits and manage risk proactively, as the trailing limit moves with your equity high-water mark.

Leverage: Leverage varies by instrument and account type. Forex pairs typically offer up to 1:100, while indices and commodities may have lower leverage. Traders should check the specific leverage terms for their chosen account and instrument.

Commissions & Spreads: FTMO Futures uses institutional-grade pricing with competitive spreads. Commission structures depend on the platform and account type selected.

FTMO Futures Scaling Plan & Profit Split

FTMO Futures offers a scaling program that allows successful traders to grow their account size and profit split over time. Starting with a base profit split of 90%, traders can increase their allocation by demonstrating consistent profitability across multiple payout cycles.

With a base split already at 90%, FTMO Futures offers one of the most generous payouts in the prop trading industry. The scaling plan focuses on increasing account size, allowing funded traders to manage progressively larger capital as they prove their trading consistency.

FTMO Futures Payout Process & Withdrawal Methods

FTMO Futures processes payouts every 4 days (growth) / 5 days (pro). Once a trader meets the minimum withdrawal threshold of $20, they can request a profit withdrawal through their dashboard.

Payout Methods: Available withdrawal methods typically include bank wire transfer and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin/USDT). Processing times vary by method — crypto payouts are generally faster (1–3 business days), while bank transfers may take 3–7 business days depending on the trader's location and banking infrastructure.

Profit Split: FTMO Futures offers a 90% profit split on all funded accounts. This means for every $1,000 in profit generated, the trader keeps $900 and the firm retains the remainder. Challenge fees are typically refunded with the first profit withdrawal, effectively making the evaluation free for successful traders.

FTMO Futures Customer Support & Reputation

FTMO Futures provides customer support through email, live chat. Support hours are 24/7. The firm maintains a comprehensive knowledge base and FAQ section that covers common questions about account rules, payouts, and platform setup.

For traders encountering technical issues, FTMO Futures provides dedicated support channels with response times typically under 24 hours on business days.

Trustpilot Rating: FTMO Futures currently holds a 4.8/5 (group-wide, not futures-specific) rating on Trustpilot, reflecting strong trader satisfaction and a reputation for reliable service.

Frequently Asked Questions About FTMO Futures

No. FTMO Futures is a separate product with its own website (futures.ftmo.com), its own client area, its own rulebook and its own pricing. The original FTMO is a CFD prop firm charging a one-off challenge fee; FTMO Futures funds CME futures traders on a monthly subscription. The two share a parent company and an affiliate programme, but the accounts, rules and platforms do not overlap.

It is a monthly subscription, not a one-off fee. Growth costs $119, $169 and $229 per month for the $50K, $100K and $150K accounts; Pro costs $139, $199 and $269. There is no activation fee at any stage, and resets cost $109 to $259 depending on plan and size. Because there is no time limit on the Evaluation, the subscription keeps billing until you pass, fail or cancel — so a slow Evaluation costs more than a fast one.

Yes, and this is the main reason to choose it over the FTMO CFD Challenge, which is closed to US residents. FTMO Futures accepts residents of 45 US states plus American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the US Minor Outlying Islands and the US Virgin Islands. Arkansas, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana and South Carolina are excluded. Eligibility is based on where you live, not your nationality.

Max drawdown is end-of-day trailing and equity-based, not intraday. Your limit sits a fixed amount below the highest end-of-day balance you have closed at, it only ever ratchets upward, and once it reaches your initial capital it locks there permanently — so after you are up by the drawdown amount your stop-out is effectively breakeven. The daily loss limit is calculated from your balance at the start of each trading day and, unlike max drawdown, can move down.

No. The trading day runs from 6:00pm ET to 4:10pm ET the following day, and positions or resting orders cannot be carried past the end of it — the platform automatically liquidates open positions and cancels orders at session close. Strategies that depend on exposure after the close are explicitly prohibited, which rules out swing and position trading entirely.

It means three accounts, not one. The largest single FTMO Futures account is $150,000, and you may hold up to three Sim-Funded accounts at once across Growth and Pro, so 3 x $150,000 = $450,000. The futures Scaling Plan raises your contract limit as end-of-day profit grows (from 2, 4 or 6 contracts up to 5, 10 or 15); it does not scale the account size.

Like most prop firms, FTMO Futures requires you to follow strict daily and maximum drawdown limits. Always review their terms for specific restrictions on news trading, holding trades over the weekend, and the use of Expert Advisors (EAs).

Payout frequency typically spans from on-demand to monthly, depending on the firm's structure. Check our Payouts Leaderboard to see documented methods and processing speeds for FTMO Futures.

Most leading prop firms support platforms like MT5, Match-Trader, cTrader, or DXtrade. Check their official specifications page to verify current platform availability.

Yes, FTMO Futures is featured on BrokerAnalysis. Being part of our active review dataset means the firm has passed initial checks for operational history and payout validation.
